Virgin PTFE is unfilled polytetrafluoroethylene made without reinforcing fillers such as glass fiber, carbon, graphite or bronze. It is commonly selected when the natural characteristics of PTFE — chemical inertness, low friction, electrical insulation and wide service-temperature capability — are more important than added stiffness or wear reinforcement.
The material is typically supplied in its natural white form and can be produced as semi-finished shapes or machined into finished parts. For design work, the exact resin grade, manufacturing route, dimensions and required documentation should be confirmed before final material approval.

Chemical Resistance
PTFE is highly resistant to a broad range of acids, bases, solvents and process chemicals, making virgin grades a common choice for chemical handling and sealing applications.
Low Friction
Its naturally low coefficient of friction supports sliding, guiding and sealing applications where reduced surface friction is important.
Temperature Range
Virgin PTFE can maintain useful properties across a broad temperature range. A typical reference range for PTFE stock shapes is approximately −200°C to +260°C, subject to grade and application.
Electrical Insulation
Low dielectric behavior and high electrical resistivity make PTFE suitable for insulating components, electronic assemblies and electrical applications.
Low Moisture Uptake
Very low water absorption helps maintain dimensional and electrical performance in humid or fluid-exposed environments.
Clean Material Option
Because no reinforcing filler is added, virgin PTFE is often considered where filler contamination, color or chemical purity is a concern. Required purity or compliance levels still need to be confirmed for the specific grade.
